How 100 Golden Brush winners were chosen: Guo Haipeng on the award’s meaning and judging

8月25日16时45分，“涂装大咖论道”结束后，论坛进入金刷奖环节。组委会行业荣誉评审小组组长、诸暨快涂美装饰工程有限公司总经理郭海鹏登台，宣讲“金刷奖”的意义与评选。他宣布，本届大会共评出100位金刷奖得主，并将每年的8月28日定为华东艺术涂料涂装行业的“工匠节”。

At 4:45 pm, after the round-table discussion, the forum turned to the Golden Brush Award. Guo Haipeng, head of the organising committee’s honours review panel and general manager of Zhuji Kuaicoumei Decoration, took the stage to explain the award’s meaning and selection process. He announced that 100 Golden Brush winners had been chosen for this year’s forum, and that August 28 would be designated the “Craftsmen’s Day” of the East China art coating industry.

潮涌东方，致敬百人

“钱塘江畔，潮涌东方。”郭海鹏以这句话开场。他说，今天大家齐聚杭州，共同见证华东艺术涂装行业的荣耀时刻；他代表评审小组，向荣获本届金刷奖的100位优秀从业者致以祝贺，也向长期关心支持行业发展的领导、专家和企业界朋友表示感谢。作为与行业相伴二三十年的“一线”从业者，他说自己“非常激动”——正如方学平刚才所讲，像他们这样常年坐在一线的涂装人，“今天终于站在聚光灯下了”。

“By the Qiantang River, the tide surges east,” Guo began. Gathering in Hangzhou, he said, the industry was witnessing a moment of glory for East China’s art coating trade; on behalf of the review panel he congratulated the 100 winners and thanked the officials, experts and business leaders who have long backed the industry. A front-line practitioner of two or three decades himself, he said he was “thrilled” — echoing Fang Xueping’s earlier words that people like them, who have always worked on the front line, “are finally standing in the spotlight today”.

公平评审与“工匠节”之约

本届金刷奖的评审工作，始终秉持一个核心理念——公平、公正、公开、透明。郭海鹏介绍，8月19日，评审小组与几家发起单位联合，在无机涂谷召开了严谨细致的评审会议，对每一位候选人的资料进行了逐一评审。“正是这份对规则的敬畏、对透明的坚守，才让今天站在台上的100位金刷奖获得者实至名归、当之无愧。”

Judging for this year’s award followed one core principle: fairness, impartiality, openness and transparency. On August 19, Guo said, the review panel joined forces with the forum’s founding units for a rigorous evaluation session at Tugu, going through each candidate’s file one by one. “It is this respect for the rules and commitment to transparency that makes the 100 winners on stage today truly deserving of the honour,” he said.

在郭海鹏看来，金刷奖表彰的是一群什么样的人？“他们不是明星，却比明星更值得尊敬；他们不是演说家，却用刷子和涂料在墙壁上写下了最动人的篇章。”他们是华东地区数万名涂装从业者中的杰出代表：有人深耕行业三十余年，将一面面白墙变成艺术作品；有人潜心钻研新工艺，将传统技法与现代审美完美融合；有人以极致服务赢得客户口碑。“那是数十年如一日的坚守，是对每一刷、每一涂的极致苛求，是‘把一件事做到极致’的执着信念。”

What kind of people does the Golden Brush honour? “They are not celebrities, yet they deserve more respect than celebrities do; they are not orators, yet they have written the most moving chapters on walls with brushes and paint,” Guo said. They are outstanding members of a workforce numbering in the tens of thousands across East China: some have spent more than 30 years turning blank walls into artworks; some have immersed themselves in new techniques, fusing traditional craft with modern aesthetics; others have won clients over with exacting service. “It is decades of persistence, an obsession with every single stroke, and the conviction of doing one thing to perfection,” he said.

8月28日：属于涂装工匠的节日

郭海鹏宣布了组委会的一项重要决定：为让手握刷子、在墙壁上创造美的手艺人拥有属于自己的节日，经组委会与评审小组共同商议，决定将每年的8月28日定为华东艺术涂料涂装行业的“工匠节”。为什么选这一天？因为8月28日是鲁班的诞辰纪念日，鲁班代表着精益求精、不断创新、追求卓越的工匠精神，“我们艺术涂料涂装人，正是这份精神在当代的传承者和践行者”。目前已有多个省市把这一天设为城市的工匠日。从明年开始，8月28日不再只是一个日子，“它是我们所有涂装工匠共同的节日，是我们行业的荣耀日”。

Guo then announced a key decision: so that the craftsmen who create beauty on walls with their brushes may have a festival of their own, the committee and the review panel have jointly agreed to designate August 28 — the birth anniversary of Lu Ban, the legendary master craftsman celebrated for precision, constant innovation and the pursuit of excellence — as the industry’s “Craftsmen’s Day”. Several provinces and cities already mark the date as a municipal craftsmen’s day. “We in art coating are the inheritors and practitioners of that spirit today,” Guo said. From next year, August 28 will no longer be just a date: “It will be a festival shared by all coating craftsmen — our industry’s day of honour.”

他同时给出行业判断：当前我国艺术涂料行业正从高速扩张转向高质量发展阶段，2026年预计全年市场规模将突破147亿元；华东地区作为产业高地，高端住宅项目艺术涂料渗透率持续攀升。更令他振奋的是，“艺术涂装师”已正式列入国家职业分类大典，成为国家承认的独立职业工种。“市场在扩大，要求在提高，我们手中的刷子有了国家认可的职业身份证。这既是机遇，更是责任。”

He also offered a reading of the market: China’s art coating industry is shifting from rapid expansion to high-quality development, with the full-year market expected to exceed 14.7 billion yuan in 2026; East China, as an industry highland, keeps seeing penetration rates climb in high-end residential projects. More encouraging still, “art coating applicator” has been formally included in China’s occupational classification catalogue as an officially recognised profession. “The market is growing and expectations are rising; our brushes now carry a state-recognised professional identity,” Guo said. “That is an opportunity — and even more, a responsibility.”

面向未来，他给出了清晰规划：明年计划在华东地区评选300位涂装技师工匠，让更多默默耕耘在一线的优秀工匠被看见、被认可、被尊重；同时将真正举办技术比武与职业技能竞赛，“真刀真枪”地比技术、比工艺、比匠心，通过实战比拼评选出名副其实的职业技能大师级工匠，让真正有本事的人站上行业最高领奖台。“我们要用竞赛激发整个行业学技术、钻技艺的热情，让工匠精神从口号变成行动，从理念变成习惯。”

Looking ahead, he set out a clear plan: next year the region will name 300 master craftsmen, so that more of those quietly working on the front line are seen, recognised and respected; genuine technical contests and vocational skills competitions will follow, pitting technique against technique and craftsmanship against craftsmanship in real conditions, to crown true masters of the trade. “We want competition to fire up the whole industry’s appetite for learning and drilling skills — turning craftsmanship from a slogan into action, and from an idea into a habit,” he said.

致辞最后，郭海鹏寄语百位获奖者：珍惜荣誉，发挥榜样力量，传承技艺、引领风尚；也希望全行业以他们为标杆，从价格竞争转向价值创造，用卓越的交付赢得市场尊重。“匠心传承，方能基业长青。让我们携手并进，以工匠精神为魂，以精湛技艺为本，共同书写华东艺术涂料涂装行业更加辉煌的篇章。”

He closed with a message to the 100 winners: treasure the honour, set an example, pass on the craft and lead the way. He urged the wider industry to take them as a benchmark, moving from price competition to value creation and winning the market’s respect through outstanding delivery. “Only when craftsmanship is passed on can an industry endure. Let us move forward together — with the craftsman’s spirit as our soul and superb technique as our foundation — to write a more brilliant chapter for East China’s art coating industry.”
